Composite Presses That Deliver More with Less!

ANDRITZ Schuler provides a comprehensive overview of composite production processes, emphasizing the versatility and efficiency of its press systems. This presentation showcases compact, high-precision presses, ranging from 10,000 kN to over 160,000 kN, that are designed to deliver maximum output with minimal part rejection and support all major composite forming methods (i.e., SMC, BMC, and RTM). With a focus on energy-efficient operation and reduced costs, these presses offer scalable solutions for manufacturers seeking quality, flexibility, and performance in modern composite part production.

Using Water-Assist to Lightweight an Injection Molded Part

Although not a new technology, water-assist injection molding (WAIM) is probably underutilized when it comes to the lightweighting of a thermoplastic, injection-molded part. This presentation will describe the WAIM process and all the associated benefits. The presentation will conclude with a case study that shows how this process technology was effectively used at the Scale-up Research Facility (SuRF) to produce a lightweight, production-intent cross car beam. Join us for these engaging presentations.
